IMPORTANT
1. Buy domain as youdomain.com , not subdomain as yoursite.somedomain.com. Then it will be easier to get statistics form google webmaster tools.
2. Work with <TITLE>. Every page must have its own title. Title must be to 64 chars, is some cases- 128. Google cuts text after 64 characters. If <TITLE> longer and last word does'nt fit, you can find <TITLE> to 67 simbolių. May it can be a bit longer. Use similar pages, but different titles.
3. Make your links as text links: not like http://www.apiemus.com/en/id=10&article=20&bbb=30 but like http://www.apiemus.com/en/seo-tips-and-tricks Because search goes in links too, and it is higher priority than some text. Another thing- it is like extension of <TITLE>.
4. Some expert says , <META description = ... > and <META keywords = ... > is not important. NOT RIGHT. I noticed, that some sites are indexed using <META ... > in Google. But Google ignores <META> from some sites. Right. Why? I dont know. It is needes to remember, that YAHOO uses <META>. Solution: use <META>. Treat it like <TITLE>: every page with different <META>.
VERY IMPORTANT
1. Google is angry about repeated content: solution is here: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html. It is related with
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish" />
which shows relation with another page, where initial similar or the same content is located.
2. For whole domain better to use 301 redirect. PHP case:
<?php // Permanent redirection header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently"); header("Location: http://www.gooddomain.com/"); exit(); ?>
Mod rewrite case:
# redirect all non-www traffic RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^thisdomain\.com$ RewriteRule ^.*$ http://www.gooddomain.com%{REQUEST_URI} [R=permanent,L]
# Redirect aliases of home page to the root website rewriteRule ^index\.(php|html|htm) http://www.somacon.com/ [R=permanent,L]
3. JavaScript and <META> dont give 301 redirect.
WHAT COUTN OF BACKLINKS IS NEEDED TO REACH WISHED PAGERANK? Look below. For example, if you want to have 3 GOOGLE PAGERANK of your site, you need to put 1 link of your site into 5 PAGERANK site. You can to it placing 18 links into 3 level sites. This table is approximate, because PAGERANK depends on many criterias. But it means, that amount of links in high pageranked sites HELPS to increase your site's pagerank. It is important to invest time to this activity. To check sites's pagerank CLICK HERE >>>.
PAGERANK FORMULA
PR(A) = (1 – d) + d * SUM ((PR(I->A)/C(I))
Where:
- PR(A) is the PageRank of your page A.
- d is the damping factor, usually set to 0.85.
- PR(I->A) is the PageRank of page I containing a link to page A.
- C(I) is the number of links off page I.
- PR(I->A)/C(I) is a PR-value page A receives from page I.
- SUM (PR(I->A)/C(I)) is the sum of all PR-values page A receives from pages with links to page A..
DOUBTFUL GOOGLE PAGERANK CRITERIAS
New for me: Make sure you include at least one link to Google.
Dont dot it: Use invisible text but make it close - colors like 00FF33 & 00FF66 are both browser safe, but are so close most humans can't tell the difference.
Interesting: Dots, Dots, and More Dots. Put them at the bottom of your document like this: ............. Then link each one to your pages - make sure you link one to Google and for good measure another to Yahoo. Don't link to other sites (other than your own) that aren't search engines. Don't even link to sites that used to be search engines - like AltaVista.
It works to increase counted amount of links. Not sure, is it related to Google PR: This tip is probably the most powerful one on here. Make at least three pages on your site and link them as follows: Page 1 >>>>>> Page 2 Page 2 >>>>>> Page And this is the kicker Page 3 >>>>>> Page 1
Google will give points to page 2 from page 1, then to page 3 from page 2, and then - if you link it back to page 1 - it starts all over again. I can't even count how many points this will end up giving you. Just don't abuse it too much - or the big sites will complain you are taking too much PR from them.
Not so cruel.... : Use H1 Tags for your entire page (except the title and other header information). You can use CSS Style sheets to make them look smaller and Google will give you bookoo points for having everything so big on the page (even though it doesn't look big to the user).
New information is valuable: Submit early and submit often.
Backlinks are very important: Link back too other people linking to your page using link:www.example.org.
Be careful: Be careful spelling. Words like "PENS" and "ANGINA" can easily be mispelled to be words of the male and female anatomy respectively. This will cause Google to mistake your site for an ADUL† Site - and get it banned. Noticed how I used a special character to look like the letter "T" in the word before site. Use clever tricks like this throughout your documents.
Strange proposal: If all else fails - mail a 10 spot wrapped inside a number 10 envelope (make sure you wrap one layer of aluminum foil around it). Write your URL above the serial number on the front. If it won't fit, then that's THE problem - as Google hates long URLs.
Another rules from some forum - DO NOT: Do not use text that is the same or slightly different color as the background to 'hide' keywords. Do not repeat the keywords in the Meta tags (use them only once), and do not use keywords that are unrelated to the site's content. Do not create a title like "web hosting, web hosting, web hosting." This is considered spam. Do not repeat the keyword to increase its frequency on a page (Keyword stuffing). Search engines now have the ability to detect this: they can spider a page and determine whether the frequency is above a "normal" level in proportion to the rest of the words in the document - this is also known as keyword density. Do not optimize a page for top ranking, and then swap another page in its place once a top ranking is achieved. Do not put misleading words on the page in the hopes of attracting visitors looking for another topic. Do not submit a page to the search engines that, once loaded, automatically redirects to a page of different information. Do not create a page that prohibits the user from using the browser's back button to return to the search engine results. Do not create "doorway pages." Do not submit the same page more than once on the same day to the same search engine. Do not put multiple instances of the Title Tag in the HTML code. Do not put pages of content in layers and position them off screen or practice the same kind of behavior by turning the visibility of the layers off. Do not use small or 'invisible text' in the page. Do not send query to a search engine with an automated 'rank reporting tool' hundreds of times per day. Do not purchase multiple domains and put duplicate copies of the web site on each domain. Do not participate in Link Farm programs. Do not submit different versions of the web site in the hope of getting multiple listings. Do not submit more than the allowed number of pages per engine per day or week. Each engine has a limit on how many pages one can manually submit to it using its online forms. Do not cloak. Do not support affiliate sites with the same or similar content but different site designs. Do not create a page which is stuffed with keyword content so far down the page that it is unlikely anyone will ever scroll down that far. Do not create a plain page specifically designed to rank highly, and then once indexed, upload a different page to your server. Do not put hundreds of 1x1 transparent .gif's on your page and assign them all the same ALT text. This is rather easy to detect. Do not use CSS to set the text size of a particular tag to 0% and then fill your page with 'invisible text.'
